The Importance of Legacy Content In Sales

The Importance of Legacy Content In Sales – DigiTourShow Daily #186

My business builds a lot of websites for tourism businesses and more often than not, when content is copied across to a new system it is tempting to delete old posts that you feel are no longer relevant.

Don’t!

Look at your Google Analytics as you may find these old pages are still bringing in a lot of traffic, but more importantly, they could be generating you sales.

In episode 181 I made the point that customers can take as much as 90 days to make a purchase. Well, one of our Facebook group members, Peter Syme, commented how old content enticed customers up to 4 years later.

A 4-year lead time!

This highlights the power of content so be careful before you wield the knife and delete it.
