Ever wondered exactly how long it takes to get a page to rank first place on Google, or even just in the top 10? Well, a few of us here at TMA realised that most people don’t know how long it takes and we thought we’d put together an infographic to clear this up.
Where Did We Get the Data?
Most of the data in this infographic has been quoted from Ahrefs’ original study where they took 2 million random keywords and pulled data on the Top 10 ranking pages for each of them.
What Can You Learn from this Infographic?
We won’t summarise the entire infographic, but we wanted to explain the main discovery we made once we looked more closely at the data. Ultimately, we discovered that most pages in Google’s top 10 rankings were 3 years old or older (58%, in fact), and that only 22% of pages ranked in the top 10 were 1 year old or younger. Ultimately, this tells us that SEO takes time, and that it’s only rare exceptions that manage to jump to the first page in their first year.
We hope you enjoy the infographic. Please get in touch if you’d like to work with the Tourism Marketing Agency!
